Maureen Denise McCormick - the youngest of Richard McCormick's kids - was born at Woodland Hills in 1956. Her family consisted of an aunt who worked as household worker and father who taught. Michael Dennis, Kevin and Dennis are her three older brothers. At a young age, McCormick was a singer as well as dance. She would also perform puppet shows for youngsters in the area. The fairytale story of her rise to fame began when she was crowned her first Baby Miss San Fernando Valley contest at the age of 6. This led to being contacted by the talent agent Pat Domigan of the Jack Wormser Agency who asked if she would like to be in show business. McCormick was offered her first major task when she was cast in the commercial for television that was broadcast in 1964 of Mattels newest baby doll Baby Pattaburp. That year that followed, she appeared in another television commercial for the doll Chatty Cathy. After that, she was commissioned by La Jolla Playhouse to play the part of the character Wind It up until It breaks. The Brady Bunch McCormick won a 1969 audition from 1200 kids to be the oldest of the three twin daughters in the TV program The Brady Bunch, starring Florence Henderson as a newlywed with Robert Reed. The show ran for five years. McCormick wrote in her 2008 book Heres the Story : Surviving Marcia Brady & Finding My True Voice that she was close to having losing her virginity in the fifth season with Barry Williams, her co-star and brother on screen. In the moment, she was 16, and he was 19. The two of us could have been in a romance, she said. The timing, however, wasn't the right time.
