Nicole Ari Parker is an American stage and film actor who was famous for her portrayal as the spirited lawyer Teri Joseph on the Showtime show Soul Food. Contractor, who had completed her university degree was invited to audition during an open call for Pericles which was held at the highly acclaimed Stratford Shakespeare Festival, [Ontario Canada] and won the part. The year 2002 was a great one for her. Canadian theater critics were awed by her performance in 92 performances of the play. Contractor accepted an invitation to take part in Stratford's Conservatory course. The Conservatory has only 8 men and four females are admitted to a course of 20 weeks in classical theater. Contractor got a confirmed spot for the following season, and was offered the part of Hermia.
